$2\text{H}_2 + \text{O}_2 \rightarrow 2\text{H}_2\text{O}$. Oxidation is loss of electrons; reduction is gain (OIL RIG). In the electrolysis of water, hydrogen forms at the cathode and oxygen at the anode.
