Revision notes
A system at equilibrium shifts to oppose a change. More pressure favours the side with fewer gas molecules: in $\text{N}_2 + 3\text{H}_2 \rightleftharpoons 2\text{NH}_3$ it favours ammonia. A catalyst speeds both directions and does not move the equilibrium.
